DISTRICT EVENT
BOX HILL
1 APRIL 2007

Terrain: Box Hill - Longer courses will enjoy technical challenges unusual in the South East with route choice the key to success
 
Getting there: This is a very popular beauty spot and could be very busy on the sparkling spring morning we have ordered.
If coming by car please SHARE LIFTS if at all possible. Sign-posted from the A24 Burford Bridge roundabout at GR TQ171519 (N.B. steep zig-zag road dangerous in icy conditions) and the B2032 at GR TQ214531. There are three National Trust pay and display car parks 3 (optional for NT members) at GR TQ179513 and TQ182513 (one large and two small). Please follow instructions from NT wardens. Once the car parks are full the nearest street parking is 1k from registration towards Box Hill village.
Train: to Deepdene station GR TQ171502 (on the Gatwick / Redhill / Guildford / Reading line) or Boxhill station GR TQ167518 (on the Victoria / Clapham Junction / Sutton / Epsom / Dorking line)
 
Map: Surveyed by Mike Elliot. 1:10,000. Courses will be overprinted. Map bags available at the start.
 
Registration:

 

Entry on the day only from 9:30 - 11:30am in the easternmost NT car park at GR TQ182513.
Help and advice for newcomers available at registration.
Registration, Start and Finish all within 300m of the car parks.
 
Starts: From 10am - 12:00pm Courses close at 2pm
 
Entry Fees:  Seniors: 7   Juniors: 2   BOF members discount of 2.
 
Courses: Full range of colour coded courses from White to Brown suitable for all ages and abilities.
 
Punching: All events will be using SportIdent electronic punching (hire charge 1)
 
Facilities: Toilets and hot snacks available from the kiosk across the road from the main car park.
Squash at the Finish.
Nearest A&E units: Epsom General Hospital, East Surrey Hospital, Redhill or RSC Hospital, Guildford
 
Dogs / horses: Dogs welcome, under control at all times. Please be aware that the hill is used by dog-walkers and horse-riders and show the usual consideration and caution.
